Twitter Likes Bloggers: Blackbird Pie

Update: This method works, but doesn’t look good in RSS and on your front page. Also, if you happen to have more than 1 tweet being shown on a page at a time all tweets will take on the look of the last posted one.

Usually bloggers have to resort to screenshots of tweets when they want to show tweets inside their posts. This is no longer required. Blackbird Pie was released today and it allows bloggers the ability to embed tweets into their posts. Like this one:

May the fifth of tequila be with you.less than a minute ago via web

I used screenshots in my “Of Dinosaurs and Awesome Twitter Conversations” post, but now I might be able to go back and create embedded links.

Use this plugin and instructions: Custom CSS and JS

put everything inside <style></style> in a custom field called custom_css_code (don’t include the <style> tags)
Put the remaining code where you want it in the post.

Done.

It’s a little clunky right now, but I expect a plugin to show up  that’s built specifically for Blackbird.
