As a general rule I click "Ignore" whenever someone sends me a message from an application. I then select the application name to ignore and not the actual person.

It seems many people are rather clueless about the privacy issue of allowing apps to access their accounts. While I want to interact with my family and friends on Facebook I don't want total strangers to have access to my life.
