I’ve been doing more side projects lately. A surprising number of them have been fixing the crap that uninformed people have paid for. From jacked WordPress installs to redoing Facebook pages, I’ve helped people get what they need done. I’m also handling the social platform for a local chain of restaurants, playing around with Twitter app creation, and giving advice for hosting providers to small businesses and people.
I’m going to continue doing this work, but I’m going to be categorizing it under a new name “Dez Consulting”. Â My goal is to make sure that clients get what they pay for or at least know what they’re paying for (even if it isn’t work from me). Some of my background is teaching and training people to understand the innards of a computer or how to play Mozart on the piano. I use this experience with teaching of all ages to make sure that the client knows what they are getting and why they are paying the price that they are.
I have a full-time job already so this work will be evening/weekend work, but the majority of it can be done during those times.
