Geek Comics Recent Entry Into Developer vs. Tester Wars

First off, I just want to say that there’s really no ‘war’ between developers and testers and that if there is; there shouldn’t be.  But recently some geek targeted comics have been having fun with it.

Not Invented Here started it all with this one:

Not Invented Here: March 15, 2010

They then continued with these two:

Not Invented Here: March 16, 2010

Not Invented Here: March 17, 2010

Also on the warpath is Dilbert (although this one is Testers vs. Project Managers):

Dilbert: March 14, 2010

However, according to Cartoon Tester this whole war could be avoided with Agile (albeit somewhat sarcastically):

Not to take the wind out of your sails, but there aren’t any testers in those NIH strips. That is one developer reviewing another developer’s code.

But we are introducing a tester character… soon.

      Ooh! a new character!

I knew that they were two developers, but it’s a standard conversation between tester/developer (although I should have left off the first strip).

      Thanks for commenting :-)

LOL! The Dilbert cartoon is my favourite of this lot….”That’s sort of a gray area”…priceless!

Developers are a breed onto their own, and don’t dare criticize their work, as they will take it personally! Without them the world of the web would not exist, so I do feel that cutting them a certain amount of slack is warranted, especially if the person was coding until 3am and you criticize their work (even if fairly and objectively) upon arriving at the office at 8am, all bright eyed and bushy tailed….Enough said!
