My conversation with a spam-bot-web-cam-star

Every once in a while I get a random message on im from a girl that I don’t know that is starting up her webcam soon and wants me to join. Most of the time I block/report/close the chat window. However last night I wanted to see what they would reply with if I chatted with them.  The following is that conversation

Chantel: hi

Justin: uh hi

Chantel: hi how are you today?

Justin: I’m good

Chantel: my name is kaylee I’m doing great today I’m 21 yrs old how old are you?

Justin: But it says you’re name is Chantel

Chantel: listen hun, I am just about to start my webcam show with jen, come chat me there in my chat room? We can cyber, I will get naked if u do..lol!

Justin: nobody wants to see me naked

Chantel: I can show u how to watch free if u promise not to tell anyone else how to do it???PLEASE

Justin: but what would stop me from sharing all the juicy details on watching you and ‘jen’ be naked on cam for free with all my other nerdy/overweight/acne infested friends?

Chantel: well since its free the law that u gotta be 18 (nudity involved), u have to sign up with a credit card for age verification! BUT .. Once you are inside, just clikc on “Webcams” let me know what name you use to sign in with so I know it is you babe! [link redacted]   fill out the bottom of the page then fill out the next page as well and u can see me live for free!

Justin: Does it have to be MY credit card?

Chantel: Please dont mention anything about that in the chatroom once u get in ok?

Justin: wait… so it’s not just going to be you and me? I thought we had something, Chantel. All those seconds of typing and waiting for your response

Chantel: OH SHIT.. k I am late to start my show, I gotta get off msn…I will see ya inside my chatroom babe.. remember not to mention that I am upgrading u for free… You can use your msn name to sign in so i know it is you..

Justin: I’m calling your mom

Everything after that was an autoreply with a ‘great video site’. The problem is that the software they are using (or real person) doesn’t bother to check what name comes in. Obviously it was a spammer because the name came up as ‘Chantel’ yet she was actually ‘Kaylee’. She was going to go online with ‘Jen’. That must be one helluva house/apartment.

That was just too funny for words! I really love your retorts. It reminds me of of filling out those inane online questionnaire’s ….heheheheh

Jokes aside, as the great showman PT Barnum once said – There is a fool born every minute. Continueing in this vein a fool and his credit card details are soon parted ;-)

I thought the banks have considerably tightened up vendors, so it amazes me that people are still able to pull stunts like this….my attitude is if PayPal doesn’t do it, then I’m not buying into whatever is on offer. Credit card details go nowhere, period!
