I might need to think about adding that to my list of near-irrational yet viable fears when I'm going out to eat. The only time I had a real issue with skimming seamed to be accidental - the pool hall I used to frequent (literally every day) ran my card for someone's dinner - I can't remember if they did mine and his or just his, even had him sign for it - I brought it to their attention and it was taken care of at the business level only took a few hours (that I would have spent their anyway). I have two check-cards, one on a backup account that I don't carry in my wallet. I also never use my check card at restaurants or other places where it might be out of my control/sight.
