The Move to Agile

The company I work for is tossing the idea around of moving to Agile. Most likely it’ll be the ‘bake your own’ process method bringing in a coach and analyst to get the best processes down. Any of you have any advice on what to watch out for. I’ve worked for an agile shop before, but the process was already in place and working well before I started. I’ve never worked at a place that has transitioned from Waterfall to Agile before.

I should note that all the key players are/will be in place for the switch should we decide to switch, and I’m not the one making the final decision.

Please comment.

I am getting a new QA department set up for an agile team, my blog tracks that experience and QA specific challenges that have come up. I know there are some great books and blogs out there to watch. I think the biggest challenge I’ve faced is keeping things flexible, but well documented. Good Luck!

Thanks, Devon! I’m lucky that the team I worked on before was extremely well documented, but we were able to turn on a dime and create awesome stuff on demand, so if I see anything like that starting to rear its ugly head I’ll be sure to bring it up and make sure its squashed.
