Twitter recently has added a new feature to it’s service: Lists. There has been more than one Twitter application before this launch that allowed its users to group people into categories, so this isn’t anything brand spanking new. However now a user can add others to a list and get listed themselves. Also what’s kind of cool is that you can follow a list.
After putting together my own set of lists to help me delve farther into the people I follow I realized there are a LOT of things that I would love to see from an app developer or Twitter regarding features on lists. Listed below are my requirements. Since I’m not a developer I’m not going to go into trying to make this a reality, but I would love to see this someday so that I can use the app to my heart’s content and be happy and create more lists.
Here’s why I want this. Some of my lists so far include only a few people that I follow. What ends up happening is that one of these users is more active than the others and the list view page becomes overwhelmed by tweets from one account. That’s all. I want to see the latest tweets from all the users in that list without constantly pressing the ‘more’ button at the bottom of the twitter page.
Here are my demands:
- Get list of followers for list selected
- Display the latest tweets from each on the list
- Include drop-out of the latest 5 tweets from list member
- Include “more” button to see more tweets
- Display all lists by user
- Display all lists followed by user
- Allow tweeting
- Allow @replying
- Allow auto-include of # tags
- Allow user following
- Allow user unfollowing
- Allow list following
- Allow list unfollowing
- Allow list creation
- Allow list deletion
