My cat is worse than a lab when it comes to fetch. Yes. My cat plays fetch. I didn’t teach her this, the skill was discovered when she was a kitten and I got annoyed with her playing at my feet with a toy. I threw the toy and a few seconds later she was back at my feet again with the toy.
I swear she’s obsessed, but I’ve got proof. Recently she lost her favorite pink ball, so I ended up digging out another one that was hers. I woke up this morning to this:
She was waiting and had brought both balls that she could find into the room. Of course as soon as I touch one of them she’ll take off around the corner of my door and ‘pounce’ on the unsuspecting ball. The other day I sent this out:
My cat has taught me a new trick… if I don’t throw her ball for her to fetch she’ll rummage through my receipts until I do. Damn
Obviously I’m not discouraged by this. You should see this cat’s eyes light up when you pick up her ball, a piece of paper, a roll of paper towels (really, they do), or anything that crinkles.
