Blah and Some New Stuff

I find it funny that when I want to post something, I sit down at my computer, get 3 paragraphs in, and decide that I’m going to end up writing crap. I then erase what I have and usually start over. Nah. So instead I’m going to continue watching TV and doing laundry. I should say though that I recently started keeping a task list of things that I wanted to get done everyday. Apparently adding a task of ‘write blog post for iamdez’ isn’t a good one. So yeah, this post may be kind of ironic in the sense that I’m writing when I don’t feel like it, but it’s pretty much the only thing my overtaxed brain can think about right now.

Ooh, actually there are a few things that I should point out that are new on here. (for you RSS readers, I apologize, but you’ll have to click and see the site as what I’m about to explain takes place off post and in the surrounding areas of my blog).

1. I added a cool new twitter widget. Yup, it’s flash, but it’s the official Twitter widget. Pretty cool, and even though it’s custom code, you can still easily mess around with the width and height, and the widget takes care of the rest. I know this because I had to make it skinnier so that it fit in my theme. You’ll see this on the right side of all my pages. Yup, that’s a picture of me (because I know you wanted to see me, come on… admit it).

2. In the bottom area I’ve added a “Places I Write” links section. For a little while at least two of them are copies of posts that I’ve already written, and have just wanted to get content on those sites. But from here on out I’m going to direct my topic specific posts to those sites.  Pleasetest.us is where I’m going to continue writing about software testing, but I can focus more on the topic instead of writing randomly about it on here. If you haven’t noticed, I’ve changed the tagline of this blog. DezLessons.com is my home page for my music instruction. I’m going to do the same thing with that. Periodically I’ll port some of the posts over here, but for now, I’m going to keep this one a personal blog.

3. In the right area of the page beneath my twitter feed you’ll see a “Favorite Subscriptions” area. These are the RSS feeds that I enjoy reading the most, read the most of, and look forward to. Check them out, I promise the writing there is much better than here.

400 words later I’m done not being able to write a post. Fun huh.

Happy Reading!
