For once I’m not complaining. I had a really good day today. Started out nicely, but a little rushed this morning because I decided to let the alarm go off way too long. Got to work feeling ready to go and dived into the projects that I’m working on. My ADD apparently wasn’t active today so the next time I looked up, it was lunch time. Went to Smashburger (site) for lunch with Megan, and was again impressed with the delicious burger that is the smashburger with the awesome olive oil/rosemary tossed fries that are smashfries. Getting back into work took a little bit of time being that I was kind of full and somewhat suffering from a near food coma. I finally did, and the rest of the day flew by without a hitch (but I did have a delcious Summit EPA before leaving).
My piano lesson went extremely well tonight. A 20 something guy who’s girlfriend pre-paid for a month’s worth of lessons and books (edit: as a birthday present). He’s a by ear player and plays the bass and acoustic guitar very well, but he never learned how to read music. He wants to learn so that he can get some of his songs on paper. It’s fun for me to be teaching someone who is new to music, but not at the same time. He’s doing very well and every turn is excited to be learning something new, which gets me excited when he picks up on something.
Saw ‘UP‘ tonight. I was amazed the whole time. Of course we went to the 3D version. I’m a bit annoyed that the make you pay for the glasses again even if you kept them from another movie. Megan and I purposely stored ours away when we saw Coraline. Oh well, now we have two unopened pairs. Anyways. Pretty sure that kids would love it as well, but it seems to be a movie that is focused more on adults for the plot. It’s amazing the level of emotion that is shown in computer animated characters faces. You can actually connect with them. This is also a big testament to the animators and rendering artists to give me the kind of experience that makes me feel good. Here’s a tip: Stay for the credits. There’s nothing at the end, but you can tell that the production guys had a good time putting them together.
Now I’m just laying here watching Fergeson after missing Conan yet again (sigh). Oh… one other thing…
SQUIRREL!
