I’ve learned a lot about blogging and myself since starting this thing up in January. And because of that I’ve made the following changes.
- Theme Change (Last one for a while, I promise)
- Tracking (All) is gone
- Adsense is gone
- Feedburner is gone
- About page: simplified
Theme Change
Why another theme change? Because the last one was for more ads, which really, on a personal blog, doesn’t make a whole lotta sense. So I’ve changed it to something that I feel is easier to read
Tracking
I’ve removed it, literally. No more Google Analytics, statpress reloaded, wordpress.com stats. All of them have been deleted from my plugins/theme and the corresponding database tables have been removed.
Why? Google Analytics was pissing me off for missing about 15 out of every 20 visits to my page, and I really don’t see the need anymore to care who’s reading my own personal thoughts. I’ll continue to throw a link out at twitter and share the link on facebook, but the only way I’ll know anyone is reading this is if people comment (or if my bandwidth allowance pegs out).
Adsense
I’ve removed the ads. Let’s face it, they are annoying, and they were starting to get irrelevant to the meta keywords on the post.
Feedburner
Google bought Feedburner and subsequently took away a LOT of functionality. I didn’t use it before Google bought it, but I’ve read about it, and now that I’ve seen the craptastic usability that the managment screens have, I’ll leave it alone.
About Page
I changed it to be much simpler. You can read my posts if you want to know more about me… or (gasp) follow me on twitter to get the full effect (you thought I was going to say monty there, huh).
You the reader
Welcome, thanks for reading. Here’s to hoping I don’t bore the snot outta ya.
