I’ve recently gotten to know the website digg.com. I’m somewhat addicted to it to be exact. The site is setup to let its users “Digg” their favorite pages. The more diggs a site gets, the higher on the ratings it goes. If a site gets enough diggs in a small enough amount of time, it hits the front-page of digg. Higher traffic sites/blogs get dugg the most, and therefore can handle the extra traffic. However, periodically a smaller site has a lot of diggs (usually a blog, God help them if they host it at home), and they end up on the front page.  This ends up giving the site what is now commonly known as “The Digg Effect”.
Anyways, my newly found obsession with Digg. From the front-page you can see the latest most popular sites that other users have dugg. That’s how it started for me. You can share anything you want on Digg. I’m more into news stories and blog posts, but you can submit videos, pictures, etc… Anyways, check it out. Oh, and digg me using the button below. </shameless attempt to get diggs> <– I won’t do it myself.
